P42.4-M shabu seized in Bacolod from Jan. to Dec.

BACOLOD City – Over P42.4 million worth of illegal drugs have been seized in various operations that the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) conducted from January to Dec. 23.

The BCPO recorded a total of 2,828 grams of confiscated shabu during the period.

This includes the 2,788.8 grams of shabu worth P41.833 million recovered between Jan. 1 and Dec. 19 and the 39.72 grams of shabu worth P595,800 seized from Dec. 20 to 23.

A total of 280.4857 grams of marijuana valued at P64,511.71 have also been confiscated.

During the period, the BCPO conducted 424 antidrug operations, netting 646 suspects. Of these suspects, 36 were high-value targets, 60 were street level targets and 550 were newly-identified drug personalities.

All of them were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Among the biggest drug hauls this year were recorded in August, including the confiscation of P5.1 million worth of shabu from a newly-identified drug personality in Barangay Singcang-Airport, P1.44-million shabu from two suspects in Barangay 4, and P1.02-million shabu from four high value personalities also in Barangay Singcang-Airport.
