BACOLOD City – The P513.3-million rehabilitation of a farm-to-market road with bridge which spans three barangays – Talacagay, Bacuyangan and Damutan – in Hinobaan, Negros Occidental commenced on Wednesday, September 25.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the groundbreaking ceremony for the 24.4750-kilometer farm-to-market road and the 5.60-meter bridge.
The project was facilitated by the Provincial Engineer’s Office with the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) and World Bank as implementing partners.
Of the total project cost, the World Bank earmarked P410 million while the DA and the provincial government have a counterpart of P51.3 million.
Gov. Lacson said that more than just marking the start of the construction of the project, the groundbreaking ceremony embodies the provincial government’s commitment to building a brighter future, fostering development especially for Negrense farmers.
Aimed at improving the economic activities and further development in the neighboring barangays, the project is expected to be finished by June 2026./PN
