P500K ‘shabu’, gun seized in Calinog

ILOILO – An implementation of a search warrant by the Calinog Municipal Police Station (MPS) resulted in the confiscation of 70 grams of suspected shabu in Barangay Camalonggo Calinog, Iloilo.

Recovered from Rogelio Legaspi Jr., 24, a resident of the place, were 14 pieces of medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu valued at P560,000 around 7:20 a.m. on June 9.

A homemade 12 gauge shotgun (break type) with three live rounds, a smartphone unit and disposable lighters were also found.

The operation was headed by Calinog MPS chief Police Major Myles C. Dieron.

Dieron said they are currently verifying the information that the suspect gets his supplies from Tapaz, Capiz.

Legaspi was held at the Calinog MPS and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
