ILOILO – Around P503,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation of the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Oton Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Police Drug Enforcement Unit at 2:24 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10.

Suspect Rongie “Peewee” Melocoton, 34, of Barangay Poblacion East, Oton sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P7,200 to a police poseur.

The police recovered one knot-tied and three bundles of suspected shabu weighing more or less 74 grams and with an estimated market value of P503,000.

Oton MPS chief Police Major Fernand Limbungan said the suspect was the No. 1 priority in their drug watch list.

The police further confiscated an improvised tooter, lighter, aluminum foil, a pair of scissors, a digital weighing scale, and a cellphone.

Limbungan said the suspect served jail time in 2016 but was able to secure a plea bargain in 2019.
