P544K ‘shabu’ seized from high-value target in Iloilo City

ILOILO City – Police apprehended a high-value drug suspect in an anti-illegal drug operation on Thursday, November 7, in Barangay Rizal, Lapuz district.

The suspect identified as alias “Jun-Jun,” 44, was taken into custody by the police after the recovery of 13 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 80 grams and with an estimated value of P544,000 around 4 p.m.

The operation was carried out by joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6, and Police Station 8.

“We commend the efforts of the Iloilo City Police Office in tracking down drug suspects. This is a clear message to those involved in the illegal drug trade: stop now, or face the consequences,” said Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6.

The suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
