SAN JOSE, Antique – Two road projects in Antique under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces amounting to P59.3 million are up for completion.
These projects are Candari-Malumpati-Sto. Rosario Road in Pandan amounting to P46.4 million and Inabasan-Bugarot Road in San Jose de Buenavista amounting to P12.9 million. The funds provided are for repair, rehabilitation and improvement of the roads.
The team composed of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) quality assurance engineers and a representative from the Provincial Engineering Office recently inspected the project and results showed that as of January 2020, the CMGP road project in Pandan is at 54 percent completion while the road project in San Jose is at 69 percent.
DILG Regional Quality Assurance Engr. Job Vicente Arungayan, encouraged the provincial government not only to focus on the completion of the project, but to ensure that the required technical specifications are followed by implementing mechanisms of quality assurance.
The local government of Antique urged the contractors and program implementers to fast track project implementation and submit documentation of rectification works.
The Provincial Engineering Office was also advised to require the contractor to have full-time personnel to conduct close monitoring and quality control of the project as well as update necessary documents in compliance with the approved plans, specifications and contract provisions set by the implementing unit.
The contractors were also required to submit a report on actions taken based on the required rectification, with proper documentation.
The said projects are expected to be finished by March 2020. (PIA-Antique)
