P60-T ‘shabu’ seized in San Carlos

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth about P60,000 was recovered in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The suspected illegal drugs were confiscated from the 48-year-old San Carlos City resident Rene Alferez, a police report showed.

Alferez was caught after selling suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500 along Burgos Street around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the report further showed.

Joint elements of the San Carlos City police, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence staged the sting operation.

Recovered from Alferez’s possession were five sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, two cellphones, and the marked money.

Alferez was detained at the San Carlos City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
