P612K shabu seized, 5 suspects nabbed

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized a combined over half a million pesos worth of shabu in two separate buy-bust operations on Sunday. Five suspects were arrested, too.

The first operation was conducted on Rivera Street, Barangay 3, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental at 1:40 p.m.

Three siblings were arrested – Ruel Vicente, 30; Dunn Vicente, 28; and Emily Vicente, 43.

They were caught by joint elements of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Kabankalan Component City Police Station (Kabankalan CCPS).

Cops recovered 15 sachets of suspected shabu valued at P238,000.

Ruel and Dunn had previous arrest records.

Ruel was arrested on January 2021; he was released on December of the same year.

Dunn was arrested in 2019 and released on November 2020 through a plea bargaining agreement.

The three siblings were detained at the Kabankalan police station.

The other police operation netted two laborers at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday in Barangay Ta-al, Molo, Iloilo City.

Mark Ulysses Montaño, 37, was from Barangay Dolunan, Arevalo, Iloilo City while Anthony Amado, 32, was from Barangay East Timawa, Molo. They were arrested by the PRO-6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU).

The police recovered 16 sachets of suspected shabu with a total street value of P374,000.

“Medyo mabudlay magdakop sa ila kay ang bayad through G-Cash na,” said Lieutenant Glenn Soliman of the RDEU.
