BACOLOD City – An animal advocate based in this city has offered a P65,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the suspect who shot a stray dog using an Indian target.
BACH Project PH, a non-profit animal welfare organization, initially offered a P10,000 reward. It increased to P65,000 after several donors pledged to help identify the suspects and provide solid evidence.
“If you have any information, please come forward. Justice must be served for this innocent dog,” the group said in a Facebook post.
BACH Project PH successfully rescued the said dog on Wednesday, February 25, in Hacienda Puyas, Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental after learning of the incident.
“The dog was shot five times with in Indian target and has been suffering in pain without medical help… No animal should endure this. Every moment without treatment is unbearable,” BACH Project PH said.
It added: “We’ve rescued the dog, and it’s now at the vet getting the care it needs. We’d really appreciate any help with the vet expenses. Thank you so much for your support.”
Meanwhile, BACH Project PH received reports that some individuals may be using their photos and falsely claiming to be members of their group to solicit donations to personal accounts.
“While these reports are unverified, we want to ensure your generosity directly supports our mission,” the group said.
It also reminded the public to verify before donating and always confirm their donations through their official channels./PN
