ILOILO City – Law enforcers confiscated over P680,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested five suspects in separate anti-illegal drug operations in this city on Monday night, Dec. 11.
Drug suspects Willie Oraño, 30, Jhonicle Jaleco, 18, and Stephen Oraño, 40, were collared in Barangay Nonoy, City Proper.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, said a total of 19 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 95 grams were seized.
The suspects were placed under surveillance for over three weeks prior to the sting.
They are currently detained at the Iloilo City Police Station 1.
Meanwhile, two suspects were nabbed in Barangay Alalasan, Lapuz – Glen Camayodo and Alberto Luzuriaga, Jr.
According to Barangay Captain Jofel Ladiet, they noticed the strangers in their barangay during the early hours of the morning. When questioned by the village officials about their purpose, they immediately fled.
A total of 12 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P37,400 were seized.
All the arrested drug suspects are facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
