P68K ‘shabu’, gun seized in Capiz drug sting

CAPIZ – A fish vendor was arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay San Nicolas, Pilar town around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21.

The 26-year-old alias “Jeff”, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Balasan, Iloilo, yielded 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P68,000, homemade caliber .22 firearm with no serial number, and ammunition.

The suspect was detained at the Pilar Municipal Police Station.

He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Pilar police said the aforementioned operation was part of their ongoing campaign against illegal drugs and firearms.

Local authorities urged the public anew to remain vigilant and report any illegal activities to help ensure the safety and security of the whole province./PN
