P7.5-M aid released to San Jose residents in crisis situation

SAN JOSE, Antique – So far this year from January to August, the municipal government has released P7.5-million financial assistance to individuals in crisis situation.

The assistance is a program of the local government for burial expenses, medication and laboratories.

“At this time of economic slowdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, and other social problems, I need to respond and take action on the immediate needs of my people,” said Mayor Elmer Untaran.

Just last week, the local government released financial assistance to 130 residents in need (60 on Aug. 15 and 70 on Aug. 17) through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and the Municipal Treasurer’s Office (MTO).

“We are looking for all possible ways and resources to lessen the burdens of our kasimanwas,”” said Untaran./PN
