BACOLOD City — Some P72 million has been allocated for the development of the Arao relocation site in Barangay Vista Alegre here.
The National Housing Authority (NHA) will provide the amount, said Josephine Segundino, head of the Bacolod Housing Authority (BHA).
More than 200 residents were set to be relocated to the site covering over 20 hectares this year, Segundino said.
“The project will be initiated in three phases,” she said.
Pertinent documents and work specifications are now being finalized based on the results of the inspection conducted by BHA’s engineer, she added.
Segundino said BHA will finalize the report and present it to NHA.
Major roads and a drainage system will be built at the site once a memorandum of agreement between NHA and the city government is signed.
The city government will also provide the basic needs of the relocatees, including electricity and water connections, and financial assistance via no interest loans payable for six years, said Segundino.
She said the allocation from NHA was determined via the Revised Guidelines for the Implementation of Resettlement Assistance./PN
