ILOILO City – Anti-illegal drug operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) arrested a couple for possessing 110 grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P748,000 in Barangay Maria Clara, City Proper district.

Edgar Namang and Jacky Namang, both 53 years old and residents of Barangay Calumpang, Molo district, were flower vendors at Iloilo Central Market.

They were classified by the ICPO as high-value drug suspects.

Joint operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr. and Iloilo City Police Station 1’s (ICPS1) Drug Enforcement Team caught the suspects around 7:45 p.m. after they handed over a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P13,000.

Police recovered a total of 25 plastic sachets of alleged illegal substance and non-drug-related items.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of ICPS1, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
