ILOILO – A 42-year-old fruit vendor was apprehended in a drug buy-bust operation that led to the recovery of approximately P782,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Abaca, San Enrique town in this province.
Operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit and San Enrique police station identified the suspect as alias “Nel”, a resident of Barangay Poblacion Ilaud, Passi City. He was classified as a high-value drug target.
The suspect was detained at the San Enrique Municipal Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“This accomplishment bespeaks of your commitment in preventing and eradicating the proliferation of illegal drugs. I urge you to maintain the intensity of our campaign and bring those who still engage in the illegal trade in the court of law,” Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack L.
