ILOILO City – Shabu worth P9.34 million was seized from five drug suspects and a minor in three separate operations of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) on Thursday night, Aug. 3.
More or less 1.3 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P8.82 million was seized by the BCPO in Purok Kabulakan 1, Barangay Singcang Airport around 10:05 p.m.
Detained at Bacolod City’s Police Station 8 were Gycelle Bonagua, 31, of Angeles City, Pampanga, and an alleged member of the Caunda drug group; Michael Ramos, 43, of Antipolo, Rizal; and Rizald Lapag, 33, of Purok Zaylan, Barangay 4, Bacolod City.
The Caunda group is the remaining active drug syndicate in Bacolod.
A .45 pistol and one magazine with five live rounds were also recovered.
Less than an hour later, BCPO’s City Drug Enforcement Unit seized 17 grams or P115,600 worth of suspected shabu from Dino Paolo Perez Chavez, 24, of Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2.
“I congratulate my men. We will continue to run after sa mga malaking drug pushers,” BCPO director Colonel Noel Aliño said.
On the other hand, the ICPO seized 60 grams of suspected shabu worth P408,000 in Barangay Boulevard, Molo, Iloilo City.
Ferdinand Fernandez, 21, of Zone 3, Barangay Boulevard, Molo, Iloilo City was allegedly using 15-year-old “Picolo”, also of the barangay, as runner.
Fernandez was detained at the Molo police station while the minor was turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Sidney N. Villaflor commended the operating units.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa kumonidad na patuloy na sumusuporta sa ating kapulisan sa pamamagitan ng pagbigay ng valuable information. Patuloy po nating labanan ang kasamaan para sa ating mga kabataan na makapamuhay sila ng ligtas at malayo sa iligal na droga.” said Villaflor.(With a report from Philippine News Agency)/PN
