MANILA – Harvey Pagsanjan caught fire offensively in the second half as Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals prevailed over Arellano University Chiefs, 69-59, in the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament on Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.

Pagsanjan tallied 17 points, mostly came in the last two quarters, to go with eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block as the Generals remained in the running for a Final Four seat with an 8-8 win-loss slate.

The former University of the East Red Warriors guard stated that he is just giving his best efforts each game to help the Generals achieve its goal of making it to the semifinals round.

“Ang sabi naman sa akin ni (Generals head) coach Jerson (Cabiltes) is ibigay ko lang ‘yung 100 percent effort ko kada laro,” Pagsanjan said in a post-game interview.

“Ang ginagawa ko naman is kung ano ‘yung effort na ibinigay ko during the previous game, dinodoble ko talaga,” he added. “Also, lahat naman kami nage-extra work talaga after practices.”

King Gurtiza added 13 markers, with 10 coming in the first half, while Gelo Loristo contributed a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Generals.
