Palace: Bikoy’s criminal records make allegations vs Duterte, friends dubious

MANILA – Years of multiple criminal complaints against self-confessed “Bikoy,” Peter Joemel Advincula, have put questions on the validity of his allegations against President Rodrigo Duterte’s family to illegal drug trade.

Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo on Tuesday said the criminal complaints involving moral turpitude have something to say on the “very integrity and credibility of Advincula.”

“Information about the criminal background of Advincula is coming out. It appears he was incarcerated in 2012 for conviction of illegal recruitment, large scale estafa and theft,” Panelo said.

“Bikoy’s pretended fear for his life was part of the fraudulent act. Soon the pretenders and black propagandists will be unmasked,” he added.

Panelo branded Advincula a “fraudster” who used the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) to “perpetuate lies and foist accusations” against Duterte, his children and those closely identified with him.

“Categorical denials vis-à-vis the claims of ‘Bikoy’ by some of the entities mentioned in his videos, such as those made by the Rural Bank of Guinobatan, Inc. and the Misibis Bay Resort, were made,” Panelo said.

“There is a dictum in law which says: You lie in one, you lie in all. This legal principle applies to Advincula. The Philippine National Police is still unearthing information that will further bolster the fraud perpetrated by this unscrupulous person,” he added.

Advincula on Monday surfaced at the headquarters of the IBP saying he personally scanned the dragon tattoos on senatorial bet Christopher “Bong” Go and Paolo Duterte’s backs to determine their “tara” from Hong Kong-based syndicate.

Advincula was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of estafa. He said he was released in 2016 for good behavior. He has separate cases of large scale estafa and illegal recruitment making him the most wanted in Albay.

Go, who bared his back anew on Monday to belie Advincula’s allegations, said he believed it was part of black propaganda to tarnish his senatorial bid.

“Muli, sinasabi ko na isa lang itong black propaganda ng mga kalaban. Eleksyon ngayon. Napaka-malisyoso pa ng timing nila. Lumabas siya ngayong isang linggo na lang bago ang halalan,” Go said.

“May sinabi siya noon na kapag ipinakita ko ang aking likod ay titigil na siya. Hinubad ko na ang aking likod. Wala kayong nakitang tattoo,” he added.

Meanwhile, Paolo chided IBP for allowing itself to be used by Advincula in spreading lies. He then challenged the accuser to file a case against them in the court.

“Mula sa pagiging kilalang scammer, ngayon ay certified artista na itong taong nagpakilalang Bikoy,” Paolo said. “Magsampa ka ng kaso, sasagutin kita. Haharapin kita. Isama mo na rin si Antonio Trillanes.”

“Mga abogado kayo, matatalino sana kayo pero nakapagtataka lang na ang bilis ninyong paniwalaan ang mga sinasabi ng isang kilalang scammer,” added Paolo. /PN
