Palace: Duterte not ignoring inflation woe

President Rodrigo Duterte is not turning a blind eye on the inflation rate problem of the country, says Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte is not turning a blind eye on problems hounding the Philippines such as the rising inflation rate, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said.

In an interview with GMA News TV’s State of the Nation with Jessica Soho on Thursday night, Roque said that it is not true that Duterte solely focuses on nailing down his fierce critic Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV that he forgets the problems in the country.

Vice President Leni Robredo recently slammed Duterte for not making an action on the issues of the country such as the inflation rate, which reached a nine-year high of 6.4 percent in August.

Robredo also pointed out another issue that needs to be resolved by the President is the rising prices of rice following the lack of supply from the National Food Authority.
