The Palace on Monday hailed the gold medal win of Filipino athlete Carlos Yulo at the 2021 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at Kitakyushu City Gymnasium in Japan.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Yulo’s victory is proof of the skills of Filipino athletes.
“We would like to greet Carlos Yulo for clinching the gold medal at the men’s vault event and silver medal in the silver medal sa parallel bars event of the 50th FIG Artistics Gymnastics World Championships in Japan. Congratulations, this is proof of the skills of Filipino athletes,” Roque said.

House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco likewise congratulated Yulo for hoisting “the Philippine flag high” in the international stage.
“Huge congratulations to Carlos Edriel Yulo for his stunning performance at the 50th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan, winning gold and silver medals in the men’s vault and parallel bars events, respectively,” Velasco said in a statement.
