MANILA – Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the government is looking for “practical solutions” to ease Metro Manila’s worsening traffic.
Abella on Wednesday said they are currently studying the proposal to implement “flexible working hours” for those working in the government.
“One of the proposals is to have flexible working hours for government officials and employees,” the spokes said.
According to him, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is looking into the flexi-time proposal as a measure and is expected to give its recommendation soon.
Last Tuesday, MMDA acting chairman Tim Orbos said that President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday’s Cabinet Meeting directed him to implement a flexible time schedule for national and local government workers.
He was also ordered to clear Roxas Boulevard of obstructions, double penalties for traffic violations, and explore the “nighttime commerce” by allowing trucks to use EDSA and other major roads at night./PN
