ILOILO City – A former barangay captain of Pili, Panay, Capiz faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The 38-year-old Diaster Genoves was taken to the Panay municipal police station following a buy-bust operation on Saturday around 9:15 p.m.
It was a joint operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and town police.
A poseur buyer was able to buy from Genoves a gram of shabu for P6,500, said Senior Inspector Romeo Mallari, Panay police chief.
He described the suspect as a “high-value target.”
Genoves was arrested in 2013 and detained for four years for a drug charge. He was released in March this year.
The suspect claimed he was acquitted by the court, said Mallari./PN
