ILOILO – Over 600 children from 10 barangays in Pavia, Iloilo received early holiday treats during the annual gift-giving activity organized by Panay News and the Daniel G. Fajardo Foundation, Inc. (DGFFI) on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Robinsons Place Pavia.

The event was spearheaded by Panay News Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Pavia Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Daniel “Dan” Fajardo II, alongside his better-half, Leah Lyn Fajardo, who serves as the company’s marketing manager. The management and staff of Panay News, Inc. also joined in the festivities.

Children from barangays Amparo, Balabag, Cabugao Norte, Mali-ao, Pagsanga-an, Pal-agon, Pandac, Tigum, Ungka I, and Ungka II were the beneficiaries of the event. They received gift bags courtesy of Panay News’ trusted sponsors.

Aside from the gift-giving, the event featured entertainment such as raffles, a magician, and the much-anticipated “Day Care Got Talent” competition, which showcased performances from 10 Child Development Centers.

Barangay Amparo emerged as the champion in the talent competition, followed by Barangay Balabag in second place and Barangay Tigum in third. Winners were awarded cash prizes, tokens, and gift packs.

“Hopefully, our children are happy with their gift bags,” said Fajardo.

He also expressed gratitude to the Child Development Teachers who came with their learners.

“I sincerely thank all the Day Care Teachers who organized and worked hard to bring their students here,” Fajardo added.

Fajardo’s children, Eli and Esbee, also participated in distributing gifts to their peers, adding a personal touch to the event.

The Panay News COO acknowledged the continued support of the foundation’s partners.

“Thank you to our trusted and generous sponsors,” he said.
