ILOILO City – In a recent interview, Panay Railways Incorporated director Cesar Capellan said that the Panay Railway Revival Project is nearly ready for approval by the Duterte administration.
So far, the Philippine-based company, PhilTrack, is the leading company being considered to take on the project, but other contractors may be chosen if they can offer a better proposal than what PhilTrack is offering.
Capellan said that other contractors will have a month to present their own proposals otherwise the local committee will recommend PhilTrack to the Malacanang Palace for approval.
“Mas priority sila. Priority sila mo,” Capellan explained. “The cut-off period is only one month. I hope within the three month period matapos na namon ang bidding kag maka-start na kami.”
Capellan also said that, “ang timetable sang PhilTrack (counter-proposals) i-submit within the month. Gahulat hulat lang kami kung may ma-comply.”
According to Capellan, if PhilTrack’s offered is challenged, the project will be delayed, though he also says that work on the Panay Railway Project will likely begin this year, regardless of the number of contractors bidding for the project.
PhilTrack is a Philippine-based company that offers “’one stop’ service plans and convenient access from any place with any computer that has an internet connection.”/PN
