PANDAN, Antique – Forty-two frontliners and senior citizens here got their first shot of the vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Saturday, April 24.
The frontliners included personnel of Barangay Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) and barangay officials.
The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Pandan carried out the vaccination.
The vaccine used was CoronaVac of China’s Sinovac Biotech.
According to the local government unit of Pandan, those vaccinated did not experience adverse effects.
“Ang bakuna makatao kang bahol nga bulig sa atun lawas para mabatuan ang makahalalit nga kagaw nga COVID-19,” said Mayor Plaridel Sanchez IV.
He urged more frontliners, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities to have themselves registered with their BHERTs for vaccination.
“Indi gid kita dapat magkulba sa bakuna,” said Sanchez./PN
