CAPIZ – A man was shot dead in Sitio Moto, Barangay Cogon, Panitan, Capiz at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
Clark Frederick Villaruz, 37, was a resident of Barangay Ilawod, Pontevedra town.
While authorities searched the victim’s pocket for identification, four sachets of suspected shabu were found.
According to the Panitan Municipal Police Station, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) personnel Romeo Moleño heard a gunshot. He checked and saw Villaruz on the ground with his motorcycle.
The police recovered a spent shell of a .45 pistol believed to have been used in the shooting.
The investigation into whether the incident is related to illegal drugs is ongoing./PN
