PAOLO Contis took to Instagram to address issues surrounding his breakup with LJ Reyes. Like LJ, Paolo chose not to reveal specific details about their separation but admitted he had been unfaithful to LJ during their six-year relationship.
“Aaminin ko, naging marupok at gago ako sa ilang taon naming pagsasama. I’m not proud of it. For that, I’m sincerely sorry. I’m truly ashamed of my actions,” he said.
He also clarified that Yen Santos was not the third party and was “never the reason” for their breakup. According to Paolo, he went to Baguio to think, and that he only spent time with Yen as friends.
“She went there as a friend. Hindi ko naisip na madadamay siya ng ganito,” he added.
Despite Paolo “clearing the air,” it seems netizens still don’t believe him regarding his relationship with Yen. “Taray naman ng friend magka-holding hands talaga?” one commenter asked, while another said: “‘Wag mo na lokohin ang publiko!”
Paolo and Yen were spotted together in Baguio and in Manaoag Church in August.
Paolo said he understands people’s frustrations and has chosen to speak up now because other people were getting involved.
The actor denied taking illegal drugs and physically hurting LJ and their children. He asked netizens to stop bashing his co-manager Lolit Solis, who defends him on social media.
“I was very clear to LJ when I told her I want to see and take care of Summer kahit hindi kami okay.” Paolo wrote. “But I understand and respect her decision to go to the States.”
He also apologized to LJ, their daughter Summer, and LJ’s son Aki, who are currently in the United States.(Cosmopolitan)
