Parks drills 14, Nagoya goes back-to-back vs Ibaraki

MANILA – Bobby Ray Parks Jr. made his presence felt offensively as Nagoya Diamond Dolphins scored a repeat over Ibaraki Robots, 77-73, in the 2022-2023 Japan B.League Division 1 on Sunday at the Kamisu Disaster Prevention Arena.

The former TNT Tropang Giga guard tallied double-double 14 points and 10 rebounds to go with three steals and two assists as the Diamond Dolphins notched its fifth straight win for a 24-8 record.

Coty Clark spearheaded the offense for the Diamond Dolphins with double-double 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Scott Estherton and Yutaro Suda added 16 and 10 markers, respectively.

Chehales Tapscott tallied 16 points, Kohei Nakamura added 12 markers, including two outside conversions, while former PBA import Cameron Krutwig and Eric Jacobsen had 11 and 10, respectively, as the Robots dropped to 10-22.

Ilonggo Kiefer Ravena had another good offensive game but Shiga Lakes continued to absorb defeats as they were dominated by Shimane Susanoo Magic, 84-69, at the Shiga Daihatsu Arena.

The former NLEX Road Warriors guard tallied 16 points, including three outside shots, to go with five rebounds and four assists but the Lakes suffered its 28th defeat as against four victories.

Perrin Buford flirted with triple-double with 28 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, Seiya Ando added 22 markers, including four triples, while Nick Kay had double-double 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Magic improved to 25-7.

David Doblas backed up Ravena on offense with 14 points and eight rebounds, Kelvin Martin had double-double 12 points and 12 rebounds, while former NBA player Jordan Hamilton was held scoreless for the Lakes.

Meanwhile, Matthew Wright was limited offensively as the Kyoto Hannaryz suffered a lopsided 91-73 defeat to Gunma Crane Thunders over at the Kyoto City Gymnasium.

Wright, a former Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters gunner, finished with just six points, missing his two outside attempts, as the Hannaryz dropped to 12-20 slate, while Crane Thunders improved to 18-12./PN
