Parojinog bro caught – PNP

MANILA – A younger brother of the late Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” Parojinog, whom President Rodrigo Duterte tagged to the illegal drug trade, was arrested in Taiwan, the Philippine National Police said.

Ozamiz City Councilor Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog tried to enter Taiwan using illegal immigration documents, PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao said on Thursday.

Recently authorities raided the office and inn of the younger Parojinog in Ozamiz City and found firearms and illegal drugs, Bulalacao said.

“We are still awaiting the final report but his (younger Parojinog) arrest has been confirmed by the PNP Drug Enforcement Group,” Bulalacao said in a statement. “He has been a subject of a manhunt operation for 10 months now.”

The younger Parojinog fled after the raid of their residence in last year. Duterte placed a P5-million bounty on his head.

Joint forces of the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office and Ozamiz City police station searched properties owned by the Parojinogs on July 30, 2017.

But a shooting ensued before the search warrant was served, resulting in 16 casualties. Bundles of money, drug paraphernalia and high-powered firearms were seized from the properties.

The mayor’s daughter, Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, and her brother were facing illegal drug and illegal possession of firearms charges./PN
