ILOILO City – If an unruly man in Barangay Gegacjac, Passi City were to be believed, a policeman and the latter’s father who was a retired police officer mauled him.

According to Avelino Perez, he tried to enter a benefit dance around 11 p.m. Friday last week but the father and son prevented him and beat him up.

Not true, according to Police Officer 2 James Pedroso of the Passi City police.

Perez became belligerent when he was discovered to have a .38 revolver during inspection outside the dance hall so he had to be subdued, explained Pedroso.

Perez sustained bruises.

Superintendent Ruby Gumban, city police chief, ordered an investigation.

The investigation will be fair, she stressed./PN
