ILOILO City – A 27-year-old resident of Passi in Iloilo province was accused of punching another resident of the component city.
Lerio Padasay, a laborer from Barangay Pangaypay, was detained at the Passi City police station, a police report showed.
Padasay allegedly attacked Jose Rene Fernandez, 59, of San Roque Street when they chanced upon each other on F. Palmares Street at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, stated the police report.
Citing witnesses, police said Fernandez asked Padasay why he was giving him a sharp look, then the latter suddenly punched him on the face and mouth.
Fernandez was taken to the Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Passi./PN
