Patnongon bags Safety Seal

PATNONGON, Antique – The municipal government here was awarded a Safety Seal by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Sept. 6.

Mayor Evohn Nee Baldestamon received the Safety Seal from the Certification and Inspection Team of DILG-Antique.

“Patnongon has complied with all safety measures and protocols in fighting the (coronavirus disease) pandemic,” said Baldestamon.

The mayor gave credit to municipal government offices for enforcing the protocols.

The Safety Seal certification program “aims to increase compliance by private or public entities with the minimum public health standards set by the government.”

It also seeks to “encourage the adoption and use of the StaySafe.ph digital contact tracing application as well as increase consumer’s confidence as we safely re-open the economy.”

To secure a Safety Seal, an office or establishment must meet the following criteria:

* availability of temperature or thermal scanner (e.g. thermal gun) to assess employees, clients and visitors

* availability of health declaration sheet for employees and clients

*availability of isolation area for identified symptomatic employees

* Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) and other emergency hotlines are placed in conspicuous area

* availability of hand-washing stations with soap, sanitizers and hand drying equipment or supplies for employees and clients/visitors in

* physical barriers in enclosed areas to maintain social distancing (blocking off chairs, markers, stickers on the floor for spacing

* availability of personnel-in-charge for monitoring and maintaining social distancing and ensuring the compliances of clients / visitors / employees to health protocols and areas in the establishment where people gather (e.g. queue)

* regular (at least twice a week) cleaning and disinfection in the establishment in compliance to the Cleaning and Disinfection of Environmental Surfaces in the Context of COVID-19 by the World Health Organization.

* personnel, employees, clients and visitors always wear facemasks and face shields especially in enclosed places/PN
