Patriotism formation in Iloilo City villages set

ILOILO City – Some 458 students taking their masters and doctorate degrees in various institutions throughout the country will be in this city on July 12 to 13, 2019 to participate in a formation program that aims to encourage patriotism.

The “2-Day Scholars Formation Program” is one of the activities of “The Filipino Patriot Scholars Project” of the Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) which aims to foster patriotism among the DOST-SEI scholars and instil in them the core values of professional excellence, social responsibility, and servant leadership.

The scholars will be visiting 15 communities in Iloilo City for their exposure trips under the Capacity Building Program in Science and Mathematics Education.

The opening ceremonies for this activity is at 8:30 a.m. of July 12, 2019 at Punta Villa Resort in which Iloilo City’s Mayor Jerry Trenas is to give the welcome remarks.

On July 13 from 9 a.m. to noon, the DOST-SEI scholars will be having an exposure visit in the barangays for their Focus Group Discussions with at least 30 representatives of each community./PN
