BEAUTY queen Pauline Amelinckx is literally going places, thanks to her booming career as a pageant host.
The 2022 Miss Universe Philippines-Charity and 2023 Miss Supranational runner-up has found herself thousands of miles away from home for her first-ever overseas hosting gig, crossing time zones to get to a different continent.
“Hosting pageants has brought me all the way to Canada,” Amelinckx posted on social media.
“This has been a personal goal I’ve had and kept to myself for over a year — to take this passion for hosting beyond our own borders. And now that it has come to fruition I’m soooooo friggin’ grateful and excited for all that’s next,” she added.
Organizers of the Miss Fillipinas Worldwide pageant, the search for the Filipino-Canadian community’s official delegates to the Miss Universe Philippines pageant, has tapped on Amelinckx to host both the coronation show and the preliminary competition.
“All my love to the incredible [Miss Universe Philippines Canada] Fam. You turned my ambition into reality,” she continued.
Amelinckx wore Filipino designers to her first overseas hosting job, sporting a gold pantsuit with peplum detail by Renee Salud, dubbed the “Ambassador of Philippine Fashion to the World,” for the preliminary event.
She prepared two looks for the final competition, and first slipped into a blue bustier with ruching and a smattering of rhinestones by Jheboi Ramos, then she changed into a fully-embellished corseted scarlet frock by Angela Taloza.
“If there are even a few minutes during the pageant that will allow me to change into a second gown… I will,” Amelinckx shared.
This was not the first time for Amelinckx to fly to Canada for pageantry. She went to “The Big White North” late last year as part of the Aces and Queens pageant camp’s “boot camp,” serving as one of the mentors to those who underwent the pageant prep crash course.
At the end of the competition, Kristel David took home the Miss Filipinas Worldwide crown, while international pageant veteran Jessica Cianchino was proclaimed as Miss Filipinas Global.
