ILOILO – The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of the municipality of Pavia approved the proposed executive budget for fiscal year 2023 amounting to P370 million.

Next year’s budget is 3.14 percent lower than this year’s P382 million due to lesser allocation from the national government thru the National Tax Allotment (NTA) share, formerly called the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).

Funds for the 2023 Annual Executive Budget will come from local or internal sources, which include tax revenue (P135,644,275) and non-tax revenue (P31,551,628), and external sources, which is the NTA amounting to P202,804,097.

The approved budget will be divided among 22 offices of the municipal government, with the big chunk of P168,208,400 for maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE); P120,746, 600 set aside for personal services, and P81,045,000 for capital outlay.

MOOE accounts for 45.5% of the total budget, with personal services accounting for 32.6% and capital outlay accounting for 21.9%.

Three offices with the biggest budgets are the Office of the Mayor which will have P82,809,595; the municipal engineering office (P70,542,000), and municipal rural health unit (P33,230,767).
