MANILA – John Paul Erram is now officially a part Talk N’ Text KaTropa over a week since his name was registered to the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Office as part of a three-team blockbuster trade.
With the approval of the request on Friday, NLEX Road Warriors shipped Erram to Blackwater Elite for Anthony Semerad, Rabeh Al-Hussaini, a 2020 first round draft pick and a 2021 second round pick.
The Elite then shipped Gilas Pilipinas center Erram to the KaTropa for Eduardo Daquioag, Yousef Taha, Marion Magat and two future first round draft selections.
Erram’s trade has been completed despite Road Warriors head coach Yeng Guiao’s refusal to part ways with his big man and several vetoes from the PBA trade committee.
For Ka Tropa, the arrival of Erram has catapulted the team to contender status in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup, joining forces with Gilas Pilipinas internationals Jayson Castro, Roger Pogoy, Bobby Ray Parks Jr.and Troy Rosario.
The Road Warriors, on the other hand, added another wing shooter in Semerad and another big man with an outside touch in Al-Hussaini, who also played for NLEX before.
Blackwater, for its part, equipped veteran presence in Daquioag, who will reunite with his PBA D-League teammates Mike Tolomia and Rey Mark Belo.
Taha is another firepower to the Elite’s frontline, which is led by rookie center Maurice Shaw. Magat, on the other hand, is rumored to be traded to the Road Warriors in the second conference./PN
