MANILA – In a surprising move, the Rain or Shine (RoS) Elasto Painters have traded youthful guard Eduardo Daquioag to the Talk N’ Text (TNT) KaTropa in exchange of three Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) future round picks.
In a deal that was approved by the PBA Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday afternoon, the 6’1 point guard will head to TNT in exchange of second round picks in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
TNT will serve as the third team that the former University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers star will play for after starting his professional career with the Meralco Bolts.
Indeed, a Daquioag trade was a bold move for the Elasto Painters since he was one of the vital cogs for their team last season that reached the semifinals twice.
The latest trade could possibly be a spot clearing move for the Elasto Painters management to pave way to their rookie players Mike Nieto, Clint Doliguez, Prince Rivero, Adrian Wong, Vince Tolentino, Wendell Comboy and Luke Parceco.
Meanwhile for the KaTropa, the latest addition of Daquioag to their squad will be a good boost to their team roster after they have failed to reach the PBA Governor’s Cup finals.
Eduardo Daquioag was the second player to be acquired by TNT this offseason after trading sharpshooter Michael Digregorio for Simon Enciso from the Alaska Aces./PN
