MANILA – TNT KaTropa and Magnolia Hotshots have bolstered their rosters in separate trade deals heading into the homestretch of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
The KaTropa added another young talent to its already powerhouse lineup with the acquisition of rookie guard Bobby Ray Parks Jr. from the Blackwater Elite.
In exchange for the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft’s No. 2 overall pick, the KaTropa sent Celedonio Trollano and Anthony Semerad and two future draft picks to the Elite.
Parks made it known before that he did not intend to play long-term with the Elite and had in fact signed only a two-conference deal with the team that drafted him.
Parks will also become the fourth key player that the Elite has dealt away the past few weeks after sending Michael Digregorio to KaTropa and Allein Maliksi and Raymar Jose to the Bolts.
Meanwhile, defending champions Hotshots acquired the services of Chris Banchero from Alaska Aces for bench players Rodney Brondial and Robbie Herndon.
The trade papers of the two separate transactions are set to be submitted to the PBA Commissioner’s Office on Monday./PN
