MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. lauded Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio for her hard work as Education Secretary and her love for the country.
The Chief Executive made the statement in a social media post on Friday morning as he greeted his 2022 national elections running mate on her 46th birthday.
“Happy birthday, Inday Sara! Pinalalakas ng ‘yong sipag at pagmamahal sa bayan ang ating mga kabataan at kaguruan. Ipagpatuloy lang natin ito para sa isang matatag na edukasyon sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas!” Marcos stated.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) also greeted Duterte-Carpio, wishing her good health and success in life while also thanking her for serving the Filipino people, especially the youth and the teachers.
“Maligayang kaarawan, Vice President Inday Sara Duterte, mula sa Presidential Communications Office! Dalangin namin ang iyong mabuting kalusugan at tagumpay sa paparating na mga taon,” it said.
The PCO added: “Kami ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa iyong paglilingkod sa bayan, lalo na sa mga mag-aaral at gurong Pilipino.”
Duterte-Carpio currently serves as country’s caretaker as President Marcos is in Singapore for his keynote address at the 2024 IISS Shangri-La Dialogue.
President Marcos’ greeting to Duterte-Carpio came months after First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos expressed her ill-feelings towards the Vice President.
Araneta-Marcos said she took offense when she saw the Duterte-Carpio laughing over former President Rodrigo Duterte’s remark calling President Marcos as “bangag.”/PN
