ANTIQUE – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will personally hand over financial assistance to farmers and fisherfolk in this province on Thursday, June 27.
Gov. Rhodora Cadiao, during yesterday’s flag-raising ceremony at the provincial capitol, announced that around 10,000 farmers and fisherfolk from different municipalities in the province affected by the El Niño phenomenon will receive cash aid.
Each beneficiary will also get five kilos of rice.
“We should be thankful and honored that he will be here in Antique,” Cadiao said.
The governor added that the beneficiaries will also receive assistance from the office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Following Cadiao’s announcement, the Presidential Security Group met with the governor yesterday to discuss the upcoming visit of President Marcos.
Aside from Antique, the President is also set to visit Bacolod City on the same day.
President Marcos is expected to oversee the distribution of cash assistance through his Presidential Assistance to Farmers and Fisherfolk program, aimed at supporting beneficiaries in crisis.
Approximately 10,000 individuals from Negros Occidental, including 3,000 from Bacolod and 1,000 from each of the province’s six congressional district, are slated to receive this assistance./PN
