PBBM’s approval rating drops

MANILA – The nationwide approval and trust ratings of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. went down by two and five percentage points, respectively.

According to Pulse Asia’s latest Ulat ng Bayan survey, Marcos’ approval rating went down from 55 on March to 53 in June, while his trust rating decreased from 57 to 52.

The Chief Executive’s biggest drop in approval rating was from Luzon at nine percentage points – from 66 to 57 – while he was also a minus two in Mindanao from 40 to 38.

President Marcos, however, gained a 14-point increase in the National Capital Region from 47 to 61, and a two-point increase in Visayas from 54 to 56.

Marcos’ approval rating also dropped by 13 percent among classes A, B, and C while a three-point drop was recorded in class D. He has a four-point gain in the class E income bracket.

Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio, on the other hand, had a two-point increase in approval rating from 67 in March to 69 in June. Her trust rating in both months remained the same at 71 percentage points.

Duterte-Carpio’s approval rating went up by 12, 16, and three points in the National Capital Region, Visayas, and Mindanao, respectively, while there was a decrease of seven percentage points in Luzon.

Among the economic brackets, Duterte-Carpio’s approval rating leaped by 17 points in class E from 65 to 82. However, her approval rating among classes A,B, and C went down by 6. A minimal increase of one point was recorded in class D.

House of Representatives Speaker and Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez, meanwhile, also saw a two-point increase on his approval rating, from 34 to 36.

Senate President Francis Escudero, who was elected as the new Senate President in May, had a nationwide trust rating of 69 percentage points./PN
