MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s net satisfaction rating in the fourth quarter of 2023 has remained good, according to a recent survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Based on the survey held from December 8-11, 2023, 65 percent of adult Filipinos are satisfied with the Chief Executive’s performance, 21 percent are dissatisfied, and 14 percent were undecided.
The SWS noted that President Marcos’ +47 percent rating, which they categorized as good, is three percent higher than the +44 rating he received in September 2023.
The President’s net satisfaction rating was highest in Balance Luzon at a “very good” +52, followed by Visayas at +51, Metro Manila at +44 and Mindanao at +38.
Net satisfaction with Marcos rose by 8 points from +36 in Metro Manila, by 4 points from +48 in Balance Luzon, and by 18 points from +33 in the Visayas, while he diminished by 12 points in Mindanao.
The Chief Executive also received a higher satisfaction rating in rural areas at a “very good” +56, a 12-point increase from his previous’ +44. His rating in urban areas dropped to +39 from +45 before.
President Marcos also received a higher satisfaction rating among males at “very good” +53, compared to the +41 “good” rating from women.
He likewise received a higher rating among those aged 18 to 34 at a “very good” +53, compared to the “good” +43 among those aged 35 to 44 years old.
In terms of educational attainment, Marcos Jr. received the highest satisfaction rating from those who either finished elementary or had some high school education at a “very good” +56 rating.
Those who either had no formal education or some elementary education, meanwhile, gave him a “very good” rating at +51, while those who had finished or had some education gave Marcos a +48 rating, while those who finished college or took post graduate studies gave him a +34 rating.
The Fourth Quarter SWS survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide, 300 each from Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.
It has a sampling error margins of ±2.8 percent for national percentages, and ±5.7 percent each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao./PN
