ILOILO City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) had enforced tight security measures during the celebration of Manggahan Festival in the province of Guimaras.
With the influx of local and foreign tourists in the island, PDEA launched random sweeping operations at various areas in the province.
PDEA together with Philippine Coast Guard also secured the island’s point of entry in Jordan wharf.
According to PDEA Investigation agent Jyxyvzcky Escrupolo, the security measures were undertaken in line with the activities during the month-long celebration.
Manggahan Festival, represented by Hubon Guimarasnon, placed third in the Aliwan Fiesta 2019 street dance competition in Pasay City last April 26.
It is a month-long celebration of Guimaras’ rich culture and thanksgiving for having a land where delicious mangoes thrive./PN
