ILOILO City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 has launched an investigation into the reported involvement in the illegal drug trade of murder victim Kristopher Cabalquinto.

Cabalquinto, a resident of San Miguel, Iloilo, was mutilated and his body parts were dumped in three districts – La Paz (two arms), Arevalo (head) and body (Jaro).

Atty. Bomrad Soc Abonado, acting public information officer of PDEA-6, said they are reviewing their records and verifying their intelligence reports.

He also said they are following a lead and have identified a person of interest.

PDEA-6 condemned the killing of Cabalquinto, even though it is yet to be proven that the crime is related to illegal drugs, Abonado said.

The government has a “Balay Silangan” program that gives drug users and pushers a chance to reform their lives by undergoing rehabilitation.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office said Cabalquinto was subjected to a successful test-buy and that intelligence reports indicated his drug trafficking operation to be within the province. (With additional information from Radyo Bandera Iloilo)/PN
