PDEA’s No. 1 target busted in Concepcion

ILOILO – The No. 1 target of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-6) was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Concepcion, Iloilo around 1 p.m. yesterday, March 7.

Street food vendor Clint Monton, 37, married, was a resident of the said place.

Police Major Harold Rendura of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU)-Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) said Monton was a high-value suspect.

“Ito pong nahuli natin is kilala sa Northen Iloilo,” said Rendura.

Monton handed over a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P7,500.

Authorities recovered eight large and eight small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 50 grams and valued at P340,000.

“Bukod sa buy-bust item, naka-recover po tayo ng fragmented hand grenade, kaya medyo nahirapan talaga kami,” said Rendura.

The PDEU received reports that the suspect is allegedly getting his supply from Iloilo City and Negros Occidental through sea vessels.

Monton is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
