BACOLOD City – A man who crossed the road was hit by a motorcycle on Saturday afternoon in Sitio Mag-abo, Barangay Malu-ay in Zamboangita, Negros Oriental.

The 23-year-old Govanni Manayon, a resident of the place, sustained head and body injuries. He was rushed to Silliman Medical Center in Dumaguete City, but was declared dead on arrival.

Police identified the motorcycle driver as John Rey Cartesiano, 20, of Barangay Inayawan in Cauayan town, Negros Occidental.

He was driving his motorcycle with his sister, Rhea Marie, 19, when the incident happened. They were on their way to Dumaguete City.

Cartesian was detained and is facing a charge for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide./PN
