The 5-foot-8 Pendon is the second volleybelle from Palanguia National High School of Pototan, Iloilo to be recruited by Manila-based teams aside from Amie Provido of De La Salle University.
“I am very excited to join the FEU and ga-expect ko nga pag may game na, I will adapt myself with the team para mahatagan gid namun good fight ang tanan nga makontra namun.”
Aside from Pendon, middle blocker Zchryren Kate Mediavilla, outside hitter Elizza Anne Alimen, and setter Fiona Marie Arroyo were also recruited by the Baby Tamaraws.
“Being from Dumangas myself, mas priority ko na ma-recruit ‘yung mga players from Western Visayas… I also know na there are so many talented players in Region 6 and they can excel and keep in step with the players in Manila given the opportunity and exposure,” Baby Tamaraws’ head coach Rjay del Rosario said.
As of press time, del Rosario is in talks with some prospects in the region particularly for the boys’ high school volleyball team./PN
