MANILA – Petron Blaze Spikers repeat over rival F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, 25-14, 25-17, 25-21, to stay undefeated in the 2019 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix on Saturday night at San Juan Arena.
Katherine Bell led the way with 30 points, on 30 attacks, three service aces and two blocks, while Stephanie Niemer added 15 markers from nine attacks, four aces, and two blocks for the 11-0 Blaze Spikers.
Unlike in their first round encounter, the Blaze Spikers easily defeated the Cargo Movers in the first two sets with is excellent setting before the Cargo Movers showed some life in the third.
Cargo Movers were on top 13-9 when the Blaze Spikers went on a run to level the score at 20-all before Bell showed her dominance by scoring thrice in Petron’s final five points to seal the win.
“Sobrang happy namin sa nilalaro ng imports namin. Talagang wala kang masabi sa kanila kasi lahat talaga nagagawa nila,” said Blaze Spikers head coach Ceseal Delos Santos.
Former Petron reinforcement Lindsay Stalzer topped the Cargo Movers with 13 points while Becky Perry added 10 markers. F2 Logistics is still at second place with 8-3 win-loss card.
Meanwhile, Kanjana Kuthaisong caught fire as Generika-Ayala Lifesavers crushed Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors, 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, to stretch its winning streak to three matches.
The Thai superstar finished with 24 points laced with 6 digs and eight excellent receptions while fellow reinforcement Kseniya Kocyigit added 16 for the Lifesavers, who improved to 4-7 win-loss card./PN
