CERES Negros’ aim of sweeping Stallion Laguna in the 2018 Philippines Football League will have to wait.
Their match scheduled Wednesday night at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City was postponed.
An advisory from the PFL on Tuesday stated that Stallion requested that their match be moved to Aug. 25.
“Match 75 Ceres Negros FC vs Stallion Laguna FC is rescheduled from 18 July 2018 to 25 August 2018. Stallion Laguna has requested the reschedule due to unavoidable circumstances,” the PFL said.
Stallion players were unable to fly to Bacolod City due to the inclement weather, sources from the team told Panay News.
It was supposed to be the fifth and final meeting between the two squads. Ceres dominated in their previous four matches – 3-2 on May 26, 6-2 on May 30, 2-0 on June 26, and 2-0 in July 1.
Ceres was currently way ahead in the standings with 48 points on 15 wins, two losses and three draws. The Busmen will need two more wins to seal their second straight PFL title.
Stallion was currently on fourth place with 21 points on eight wins and nine losses, three points behind third placer Davao Aguilas, which had 24 points on a 7-8-3 card./PN
