ILOILO City – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo aims for a repeat against the Philippine Air Force FC when both squads square off anew in the 2019 Philippines Football League this afternoon at the Iloilo Sports Complex here.

Kaya-Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida said they are determined to put on another impressive showing following their 2-1 escape over the Air Force on Sunday in the same venue. “We got an opportunity to play in Iloilo and we’re grateful that Air Force agreed to play here,” Marcaida said. “We expect the Air Force to keep it close. They are also determined and most of their players are Ilonggo.”

He added: “For us, we came here wanting to perform and to give opportunity for the Ilonggos to enjoy football in the Philippines Football League. We want to show the best of our ability. We want to show quality football.”

Kaya Iloilo captain Jovin Bedic, who hails from Barotac Nuevo, said he is delighted to play here after spending most of their League matches in Laguna and Batangas.

“There’s pressure on us to perform,” said Bedic. “We’re here in Iloilo to give a good performance for the fans. We’re very happy to be here because we know how supportive the Ilonggo football fans.”

The Ilonggos will enter the match with 40 points (13 wins, one draw and three losses) for second place, while Air Force is at sixth with 11 points (three wins and two draws and 12 losses)./PN
